Wedding Officiant for The Gulf Islands
Our Custom Weddings on Vancouver Island
Weddings can be as personal and customized as you want. Do you have a dream about what you want your wedding to be like? I will help you create this dream celebration. Please remember it is your obligation to obtain a marriage license and have it to me 48 hours before the wedding
How does this work?

What about a beautiful outdoor celebration?
First we'll check the date you are interested in and see if I am available. I never double book a date, so I am yours for the whole day of your wedding.
If the day is available, we'll set up a complimentary appointment to meet the bride and groom and discuss their ideas for their wedding ceremony. This is a no obligation service to see if we are compatible. If we are on the same page, we will proceed. If we don't mesh, I'll be happy to suggest other celebrants in this area. We want your wedding and your wedding officiant to be as perfect for you as we can make it.
Should we agree to proceed, I will first furnish you each with a questionnaire to fill out. When you return the questionnaire to me, I'll start crafting your wedding ceremony.

What does crafting a ceremony entail?
Your ceremony should be your personal statement. From processional to the kiss, I craft this ceremony to include your music, the cues to the musicians, the walk to join each other, the poetry and any ceremonies you wish to include. This ceremony is then sent to you in draft copy and changes are made back and forth until we fine tune this occasion. I am available to you by email or phone as many times and for as many tweaks as you wish.
What about the reception?
As an officiant, I am not a wedding planner. What you do with the reception, the setting, the colours, the clothing is entirely up to you. I conduct the ceremony and am delighted to stay for a toast or even to say a Grace at the reception but I am there specifically to facilitate your ceremony, not as a guest.
What if I don't have any religious beliefs?
It is important to remember that while marriage ceremonies can be religious, they don't have to be. If you want a religious ceremony we can do that, and if you want this to be entirely civil that is also possible. It's your choice, it's your wedding and it should honour what you want!
Do I need a rehearsal?
Having or not having a rehearsal is up to you, but if there are children involved a definite yes, and if it is an outdoor location, another yes. It's a nominal extra cost because of the time involved and I highly suggest you do it 48 hours before the wedding so you have time to work out any inefficiencies. You don't want to be searching for a table for a candle ceremony or cords for a hand fasting ceremony at the last minute. A pubic address system means your vows can be heard by all so a small sound system and mikes are always welcome. The musicians also like the idea of rehearsals.
